Welcome to the website of the Mayo School of Dance!
The Mayo School of Dance is based in Ballina, County Mayo and currently the only school in Mayo and Connacht, and one of few in Ireland to teach all the many types of dancing the school offers. All ages are catered for from 3 years up to adults, including those with special needs. A wide variety of oppurtunities are offered to members of the school including competitions, performances, musicals, graded dance examinations and auditions for stage productions, dance companies, TV, etc.
At Mayo School of Dance we offer a friendly encouraging environment to all members whether they are in class for serious training or just taking part for fun. Dancers who are taking part more seriously are given all the extra training and preparation needed, and no pressure is put on those who take part for fun.
This site is intended not only to provide information on the school, and its classes and events for members of the school, and those intending on joining; but also to provide information and tips on dance for anyone who just loves dance!
There is lots to look at, including pictures, videos, details of up and coming events, hints and tips for dancers, dance step/term glossaries and more! So have a good look around and feel free to leave a comment in our guest book!
Members of the school be sure to check out the practice section where you can download videos of your dances and the music for them too! But remember you need the password to get in. The password can be got from me in class.
